Job Description

DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY

Tissium is a missiondriven medical device company founded in headquartered in Paris with a production facility in Roncq (near Lille) and an office in Boston We are dedicated to creating a new era of body repair by leveraging our biopolymer platform to develop new innovative solutions in surgery for a positive impact on patients lives

Tissiums technology is based on research and intellectual property from the laboratories of Professor Robert Langer (MIT) and Professor Jeffrey M Karp (Brigham and Womens Hospital) who cofounded the company with Christophe Bancel (CEO) and Maria Pereira (Chief Innovation Officer)

We are developing polymers for atraumatic tissue repair in various applications Today these polymers are used for structureless nerve repair hernia repair and cardiovascular sealing

Since our inception we have raised a total of million euros Our latest fundraising round which concluded in April resulted in million euros in additional funding This infusion of capital provides us with the necessary resources to finance the commercialization of our first products


RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Technical Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing complex components assemblies finished goods and services for manufacturing R&D and strategic support They are accountable for maintaining compliance with company procedures and Medical device industry regulations

Principal Duties and Position Responsibilities

  • Evaluating current and potential suppliers based on capabilities costs expertise and other strategic factors
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for sourcing complex/custom components and subassemblies for use in new and legacy medical device products considering engineering specifications quality standards and cost efficiency
  • Act as supplier relationship owner in key strategic supply relationships for the Company
  • Collaborate with various department representatives including Innovation Hub R&D Advanced Manufacturing Engineering manufacturing plant sales marketing finance and supply chain to understand component specifications and requirements ensuring alignment with technical standards and product goals
  • Lead crossfunctional teams on projects to generate formal recommendations concerning longterm sourcing strategy and provide support for selecting and qualifying suppliers
  • Lead efforts to negotiate and implement strategic supply agreements capital agreements and development agreements where needed
  • Identify scope and lead major cost improvement projects at both corporate R&D and Manufacturing plant levels
  • Represent department as needed in FDA inspection internal and ISO Audits
  • Establish and manage supplier relationships & portfolios by monitoring and evaluating supplier performance in collaboration with the quality team to ensure adherence to agreedupon terms and delivery schedules taking corrective actions when necessary
  • Stay updated on industry trends market dynamics and emerging technologies relevant to medical device components
  • Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing Existing Product Development
    • Manage and develop costsaving initiatives in the procurement team
    • Work with technical teams on the rationalization of materials
    • Troubleshooting existing products and implementing corrective action plans
    • Ensure that all documentation and procedures comply with applicable Medical device standards requirements and are ready for annual Notify Boby audits and/or FDA inspection

This job will report tothe Senior Director of Industrialization/OpEx or VP of Global Operations

    YOUR BACKGROUND

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field (Engineering background preferred)
    • Proven experience () in procurement particularly in sourcing and purchasing components ideally for medical devices or a related industry
    • Strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to work effectively with engineers to procure technical components
    • Must possess leadership qualities as well as ability to influence stakeholders
    • Experience negotiating complex supply and development agreements required
    • ERP/MRP system experience required
    • Be involved in the appropriate phases of the NPD process to ensure the correct management of the supplier selection process as the product moves from Concept to Launch
    • Experience supporting audits nonconformances and CAPAs
