REINSURANCE CONTRACTS SPECIALIST
Location: Schaumburg, IL (Hybrid). 3 days onsite and 2 days work from home. WEDNESDAY work onsite.

Provide organizational and analytic assistance to the business area responsible for drafting assumed and retrocessional reinsurance contracts.
No outstate candidates please . Candidate should be in the general Chicago area
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Reinsurance Contracts and Reinsurance Contract Drafters in the drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of reinsurance contracts.
- Develop an understanding of contract language used in reinsurance contracts (including trusts and broker-client agreements)
- Assemble and issue reinsurance contract documents for execution and track the status of each document (execution, coordination with other parties, etc.)
- Organize and file assumed and ceded reinsurance contracts, trust agreements, attending documentation, and related correspondence.
- Monitor statutory positions, regulatory guidelines, and judicial decrees affecting reinsurance contract wording.
- Develop skills to support negotiation and resolution of wording issues for reinsurance contracts.
- Draft provisions in reinsurance contracts (ceded, assumed, and retrocessional agreements)
- Research information (both internal and external) to support legal and contract positions with respect to terms and conditions included in reinsurance contracts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent writing and editorial skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office products.
- Highly developed organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize projects.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to complete projects and document work in a timely fashion and in accordance with set deadlines.
- Ability to pivot when project goals change. Model values in personal work behaviors, decision-making, contributions, and interpersonal interactions.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Three years of insurance or reinsurance experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Insurance industry related designation(s)
