Description:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aid provides basic technical nursing skills (deemed competent) and delegated tasks (i.e. wound care, discontinuing a saline lock, discontinuing a Foley catheter) under the direction and/or supervision of the registered nurse
The CNA/HHA is a valued member of the nursing team who works in close collaboration with the assigned RN to provide safe and quality patient-centered care. Examples of nursing activities that cannot be delegated to unlicensed assistive personnel include assessment and evaluation of the impact of interventions on care provided to the patient.
Qualifications:
High School diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED
State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License or Home Health Aid Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
