Job Description

Welders are responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture products to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.



Pay rate:
$18.00

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to work-on job orders that are moderately complex in nature.
  • Strong abilities in interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in resolving simple problems and making routine recommendations.
  • Ability to receive no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
  • Ability to work in accordance with all internal and external regulatory bodies and industry standards. Ability to learn and follow established quality & safety policies and procedures and department specific work instructions.
  • Self-motivated to meet established schedule.
  • Possesses the ability to use the computer system for basic departmental functions.
  • Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.

Requirements :

  • Requires a High school diploma and formal technical training with a minimum of 1 to 2 years in a related manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years directly related work experience.
  • Requires basic reading, math, and writing skills.
  • Must be familiar with the operations and adjustments of welding machines in the performance of Shielded Metal Arc Weld (SMAW) and Tungsten Arc Weld (TIG) processes.
  • Must be capable of operating a scaling gun and grinder.
  • Must pass a fillet weld assessment in the positions of Vertical and Overhead both single and multiple passes; able to utilize a weld fillet gage; capable of the visual inspection of welds to determine compliance with workmanship standards
  • Must be familiar with the use of a Flow Meter.
  • Must pass a BC (manual steel fillet) and CJ (manual stainless steel) certification weld assessment both written and procedurally
