Provides leadership and guidance at all intradisciplinary team members in overseeing the day to day operations of the Cancer Center. Collaborates with physician members of the health care team to ensure high quality of care for all patients. Performs duties in support of, and in compliance with licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies. Reports directly to COO of hospital and must follow supervisory orders as well as respond to customers (patients/families) and physicians needs.
TELEPHONE SKILLS Demonstrates hospital telephone etiquette by answering the phones promptly, courteously and identifying department and self.
POLICIES/PROCEDURES- Is aware of and follows all hospital and department policies and procedures.
TEAM WORK- Promotes positive co-worker relationships through team work and cooperation. Understands and supports the needs of individuals in other departments and promotes conflict resolution. Provides leadership and guidance to all intradisciplinary team members in the Oncology Service line, including but not limited to: Technologists, Physicist, Dosimetrist, Registered Nurse, Office Staff, Tumor Registry, Patient Navigator and Infusion Center Staff.
Partners with physicians providing services in Radiation Oncology and referring Oncologists to provide optimal patient care, and in compliance to hospital processes, guidelines and policies.
Provides leadership and guidance to all intradisciplinary team members in the Oncology Service line, including but not limited to: Technologists, Physicist, Dosimetrist
Directs Quality and Safety plan for the Oncology service line using the latest guidelines set forth by ACR and ASTRO. Responsibilities include development, implementation, and monitoring of action plans and reporting outcomes to appropriate hospital committees.
Directors the Cancer Center in survey preparation tasks, including reporting issues related to readiness in a timely manner in order to successfully receive accreditation.
Ensures QC program is maintained consulting with medical physicist.
Develops and updates policies according to regulatory agency guidelines.
Leads implementation of new equipment supporting Radiation Oncology services, including but not limited to a replacement Linear Accelerator, ARIA upgrades, Map Check, workstations and vault construction.
Monitors existing maintenance contracts and recommends new service contracts for the service line.
Maintains department radiation exposure film badges and reports and ensures employee compliance.
Maintains financial performance for the service line, including the management of labor, contracts, supplies and all other resources associated with the service line.
Acts as a liaison to other hospital departments in coordinating the care of cancer patients throughout the hospital, including hospital inpatient units, OR, Imaging and of the clinical departments.
Partners with other leaders to provide education and support to inpatient nurses providing care for cancer patients (i.e. inpatient infusion)
Partner with radiology leaders to manage MQSA status for mammo program.
Works with Radiation Safety Officer to assure appropriate management of radioactive materials of ionizing radiation.
Provides a safe environment for patients, staff, and families by ensuring proper signage, use of radioactive materials and usage of appropriate safety practices.
Assures that department equipment is properly maintained in accordance with regulatory and licensing agencies.
Ensures minimal number or patient and physician complaints and problems. Provide prompt and effective resolution of same.
Staffs the department in a productive and efficient manner in accordance with budgetary requirements with assuring adequate coverage for providing quality patient care.
Evaluates performance of department personnel and takes proper disciplinary action as necessary.

MANDATORY:
B.S. in Health Care Administration, Nursing or related field. Masters in Business Administration or Health Care Administration preferred.
Five Years experience as a supervisor in Radiation Therapy or previous experience as a Director in Radiation Therapy.
PREFERRED:
Must have strong clinical background

Effective leadership philosophies
Proficient in use of computer and most software programs, able to use fax machine, copier, calculators. Proficient in excel.
Education:
Required: Masters Degree in Health Administration or 5 years of experience in a management role.
Preferred: Oncology management.

Pay Range: $72.00 - $115.21
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual s qualifications and experience.
