Job Description

This is a remote position.

Our client, an entrepreneurial, publicly traded CRE & Agency lender seeks an experienced Small Balance Loan Originator to join their growing team.

This is a fully remote role without territory restrictions.

The Small Balance Loan Originator has the full support of a team of analysts, underwriters, and transaction managers helping to successfully steward loans from origination through a successful closing.

A day in the life of the successful Small Balance Loan Originator includes, but is not limited to:

  • Working with CRE Sales and Frontend/Agency Originations teams, to originate (SBL) Multi-family/Agency loans in broad geographic area, across various property types utilizing Freddie Mac programs

  • Working closely with senior origination team on existing, and to develop new, strategic partnerships

  • Implementing marketing strategy focused on high quality small balance loans ranging from minimum of $1M and maximum of $7.5M

  • Collaborating with assigned Production Analysts, and Relationship Managers, Underwriting, and Legal to determine suitability of loan opportunity

  • Achieving origination goals as set, based upon annual volume targets

  • Representing the Company with honesty and integrity while delivering credible customers


Requirements

The ideal Small Balance Loan Origin ator possesses the following characteristics & skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, finance, or equivalent years of experience in related field preferred, Masters degree in Business Administration, or Finance with formal RE training a plus

  • Minimum 4 years experience in CRE origination and transaction management; with experience in Real Estate cash flow and valuation, and with an expertise for originating SBL Agency loans

  • Demonstrate knowledge of all agency products and the ability to cross-sell other products and services, as may be required

  • Successfully manage relationships and expectations, applicable reports, and pipeline

  • Business Administration skills and competencies to analyze Real Estate market and sub-markets

  • Ability to identify key risks and work collaborative with multiple stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, highly organized, diligent, and detailed oriented

  • Ability to travel for client visits and attending sales conferences

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (PivotTables, V-Look Ups, Macros) a plus

  • Experience using HubSpot
