Job Description

Title: Senior Architect/Expert Developer (this is a LEVEL 5 role, one of the most senior level roles)

  • Level 5 is a very high position for us with these teams. So, we hold a high expectation to be able to communicate with high level executives and be able to get things done. Answers won't just be fed here.

Location: O'Fallon, Missouri (Main Campus)

  • There is a requirement to be onsite 2 days a week

: We will open this up to non-local candidates who are willing to relocate within 1 to 2 months.

This can be for a Senior Architect (preferred) or a strong senior level developer (10+ years) who has architecture experience.

The Architect profile would be most preferred.

Must come from large enterprise companies and have 10/10 excellent communication skills.

Glider Tech: Soft Eng - Princ (Java, Dynatrace, Splunk, Jbehave, CI/CD Automation Testing)

  • Any time there is an MC transaction- there is a message that goes to the bank to say approval or not and it goes back to the merchants bank- while that happens, there are other valued services that happen and to the tune of 400 billion services this year which is very high volume and also extremely low latency because folks can be sitting in line waiting for responses so we are modernizing this platform from an old model into more modernized event based application to help fill all these services.
  • One of our biggest services is the fraud scoring type of things. Ensure the person is who they say they are. They have a huge effort going on to improve their resilience so this position is funded by them to help us with this. For this existing platform and the modernized platform.
  • We also are trying to come up with a framework for how we do the aggregations with messages.
  • Java based spring boot type applications
  • Knowledge with Kafka
  • Java and SQL
  • IBM based middleware huge plus plus
  • We want a hands on architect type person. Will get into the code and write it. And a broad understanding of software engineering. They understand broad range of concepts and event based, messaging would be very helpful- obviously everything we do we leverage an internal based platform but exp.
  • Leveraging with Cloud and everything is a plus
  • 1 engineer and 1 architect. Small team. The team worker on the newer side of things is about 7-8 developers. The other area that aggregation framework is done now through a third team which is a project with volunteers as there wasn't money for it 5 on that team and some are already within that team already and are just helping out in their own time.
  • 20-30% hands on architect. Want someone who still likes to code and wants to code vs someone all the way up in the architecture. May be less in terms of how much they end up coding but that is the percentage we want someone willing to do it. They don't typically do a whole lot of coding for the product but for POCs and to test out new things
  • Generally level 5 folks can run and do this. But it is not reasonable to expect them to come in and run. Its heavy with pieces that will takes some time for them to take it all in and get the big picture of it all. It will probably be a month or two ramp up before someone can really start making a difference. Sometimes folks surprise me and in week 1 show me something I didn't know we could do. I am not unreasonable in regards to ramp up time
