Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Traffic Engineer is to provide additional support on the planning and traffic engineering side Our team sometimes serves as additional horsepower for their traffic engineering analysis sometimes to provide an outside look or QA/QC of upcoming plans and sometimes to provide creative and strategic guidance We prepare and present weekly presentations to executive staff about upcoming roadway changes and traffic impacts and are often required to distill complex information to the most crucial points and tell narratives with data We also provide support for a variety of special projects that come our way (for example redesigning and coordinating install of new pedestrian way finding) We sit at the intersection of the airport redevelopment coordinating closely with traffic engineering and the airport operations team on the ground

Requirements

The ideal person would be

• Traffic engineer with  years experience
  
• Flexible thinker willing to work with others acrossdisciplines (planning operations)
  
• Knowledge of VISSIM is a strong plus
  
• Ability to use graphic software (CAD/Adobe Suite) is also a plus
  
• Willing to work in a fast paced environment where close collaboration and flexibility is crucial
