46750 Storage Engineer Expert - Market Rate becasue role is 1oo% onsite.
STORAGE ENGINEER:
The Unconventional Compute team at ExxonMobil is looking for a new team member to fill a Senior Storage contractor role at the ExxonMobil campus in Spring, TX. This role will entail providing storage design, implementation, and support for company sites in the Americas region. Some of the activities that will be performed includes implementation, replacement and support of servers (HCI), storage, backup, and virtualization (VMware) solutions. Must have excellent service skills to provide support for IT employees/customers in our district/field offices. Experience working in the oil/gas industry is preferred. As part of this role, you will be expected to report our Spring office daily and participate in a rotating on-call support schedule.
Team Overview:
The Unconventional Compute team at ExxonMobil supports the storage (HCI) environment at the district and field offices located throughout the United States. We work primarily work with NetApp storage and the NetApp tool suite. Our team is located in Houston and we are starting to expand our presence to Argentina.
Technical Skills:
o Minimum 5 years experience with storage (NetApp preferred) and VMware
o Understanding of network fundamentals (VLANS, IP addressing, subnet masks, layer 2 & 3 routing)
o Automation skills are a preferred (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Atomic, etc)
o Experience with Linux
o Working knowledge of:
NFS
ISCSI
DNS (Infoblox/BloxOne are a bonus)
Additional Skills Required:
o Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
o Ability to work well in a team environment
o Self-motivated and driven to learn
o Works with minimal supervision and follows through on all assigned tasks
