Job Description

Vivo HealthStaff is actively recruiting for a Chief Operating Officer (COO).

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee efficient, customer-focused workflows, processes, resident systems, and programming in an acute care hospital setting. This role is pivotal in fostering teamwork and developing operational systems and processes to support the organization's growth and strategic objectives, with a strong emphasis on patient care.

Job Description:

- Operational Leadership: Implementing plans for operational systems, processes, and personnel assignments, optimizing resource utilization and standardizing services.
- Strategic Representation: Representing the Hospital CEO in their absence, coordinating various aspects of the hospital organization, and communicating a shared vision.
- Performance Management: Setting high performance expectations for the leadership team, focusing on improving patient care quality and efficiency.
- Strategic Planning: Working with leaders to set departmental goals and objectives aligned with the hospital's mission and strategic plan.
- Physician Relations: Developing positive relations with physicians, participating in retention and recruitment, and fostering cooperative relationships with medical staff.
- Community Engagement: Presenting the hospital professionally in the community and assisting in community service programs and education.

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements:

- Extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking.
- May require lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Significant use of personal computer, phone, and general office equipment.
- Adequate visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively.

Submission Requirements:

- Bachelor's and Master's degree in relevant fields.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role in an acute care hospital.
- Experience in growing service lines.
- Cover letter required with candidate submission.

Ideal Candidate:

- Experience as a COO in an Acute Care Hospital or a Senior Director in Operations moving into a COO position.
- Proven track record, career stability, and progression.
- Must have acute care experience.
