Job Description

Our client, a well-established organization, is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Income Tax Accountant to join their Tax Compliance team. This crucial role will ensure compliance with all aspects of income tax reporting and filings, including ASC 740, SSAP 101, the Internal Revenue Code, and state/local income tax laws and regulations. The successful candidate will utilize their extensive knowledge and best practices to ensure the accurate and timely filing of income tax returns, payment of taxes, and calculation of financial statement provisions for the assigned companies.


Key Responsibilities:


Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns in accordance with prescribed rates, laws, and regulations, ensuring adherence to required deadlines.

  • Calculate and remit periodic estimated federal and state income tax payments to taxing bodies within established due dates, following prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
  • Compile current and deferred income tax provisions for management reporting and regulatory financial statement preparation, including the necessary footnote disclosures.
  • Prepare or coordinate the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax accounting laws and regulations, recommending and implementing necessary changes to remain in compliance with statutory and tax rules and requirements.


Requirements


  • CPA designation and/or advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in life/health, property/casualty, and/or general corporate taxation.
  • Possess extensive tax knowledge to identify complex tax issues, conduct thorough research, and develop appropriate recommendations.
  • Self-motivated with strong critical-thinking skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, ensuring the completion of tasks accurately and within specified timelines.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education, and training.
