Quality Manager Location: Mason City, Iowa Direct-Hire & Full-Time Growth Potential, Great Benefits & 401K
This individual will lead the company's quality functions, focusing on formulating, executing, and sustaining a strategic quality plan. This role is responsible for establishing and overseeing standards, policies, procedures, specifications, people practices, and training initiatives governing quality activities across all phases of company processes.
Qualifications:
6+ years of leadership experience in Quality Management and Quality Engineering within manufacturing or process environments.
Strong preference for quality-related experience in a manufacturing or foundry setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in using quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, etc.).
Understanding of metrology, including the ability to utilize various measuring devices like calipers, micrometers, hardness testing, x-ray, and coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
Experience conducting both destructive and non-destructive tests on materials and parts to assess performance, durability, or materials characteristics.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and collaborate with management or engineering staff to establish quality standards.
Prior experience in leadership roles within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
ASQ Quality Engineer certification is a plus.
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
Familiarity with ISO 14001, ITAR, AS9100, TS16942, and ISO 14981 quality systems.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, etc.
Essential Duties:
Implement, maintain, and manage a quality system.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 by maintaining the quality system.
Define quality requirements in collaboration with customers and suppliers.
Foster productive relationships with customers and suppliers, leading efforts to promptly resolve quality issues.
Support the advanced product quality planning (APQP) process.
Contribute to the development of data acquisition and analysis processes.
Supervise the customer return material authorization (RMA) process and reduce customer returns through internal and supplier enhancements.
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate training activities related to product quality.
Set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitor plant performance against quality metrics.
