Job Description

Can you manage a portfolio of properties in defined neighbourhoods within the Borough?

  • Ensure neighbourhoods are clean, healthy, and safe?
  • Manage tenancies and leases in accordance with legislation, policy, and procedure?
  • Support the development and implementation of projects that empower customers to live independently?
  • Fulfil the Local Authorities legal obligations in providing professional housing services?

Tasks

Main Duties:

  • Support the delivery of the vision for the Neighbourhood and Tenancy Team.
  • Take ownership of your neighbourhood and property portfolio.
  • Develop action plans to improve health and safety in your neighbourhoods.
  • Regularly inspect neighbourhoods and provide feedback to the Capital Team.
  • Manage tenancies and leases promptly and professionally.
  • Inspect and audit every tenancy and property annually.
  • Support tenants in securing priority managed moves.
  • Respond to reports of anti-social behaviour.
  • Recognise and address emerging safeguarding risks.
  • Collaborate with the Voids, Allocations & Lettings team.
  • Manage garage tenancies and engage with leaseholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation.
  • Support investigations resultant from appeals, complaints, and enquiries.
  • Manage risks and ensure safe delivery of services.
  • Nurture partnerships with internal and external teams.
  • Operate relevant IT systems effectively.
  • Think critically and challenge for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Some higher education of at least A level or equivalent in a relevant subject (Desirable)
  • Willingness to work towards CIH Professional qualification Level 3 (Essential)
  • GCSEs including English, Maths (Essential)
  • Membership of CIH (Desirable)

Experience:

  • Minimum three years in a social housing Service (Essential)
  • Knowledge of housing legislation (Essential)
  • Experience in neighbourhood management services (Essential)
  • Experience in managing nuisance & ASB (Essential)
  • Experience in customer engagement (Essential)
  • Experience in service improvement projects (Desirable)
