Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in our non-profit organizations financial management and strategic planning. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations and CEO, the Finance Manager will be responsible to plan and direct the accounting activities of the department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong financial background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for our organizations mission.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and transparency in financial transactions.
  • Manage the annual budget, working collaboratively with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and financial health, providing regular reports to the DOO and CEO
    Identify opportunities for cost savings and financial efficiency improvements.
    Manage all AP & AR activities for the organization.
  • Provide financial insights to guide the organizations strategic planning process.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to evaluate the financial feasibility of new initiatives.
  • Coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (4+ years) in financial management, preferably in a non-profit organization or relevant sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing budgets, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Experience and skill in working with a Board of Directors.
  • Bi-lingual in English & Spanish is a plus

PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some local travel required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization s physical premises.
