Your Role
We are hiring a Building Engineer to support facilities maintenance and production. This position performs equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs, as well as identify efficient solutions and make routine recommendations. The successful candidate should have experience in HVAC, building automation systems with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Identify and diagnose issues in building facilities and equipment, providing proactive preventative maintenance.
- Replace, repair, and maintain facilities, equipment, and parts. (Including but not limited to emergency generators, HVAC, compress lab gas, cold rooms, PM steam boilers, hot water boilers, chillers, cooling towers, electrical work).
- Interpret drawings and specifications.
- Provide automation support for utilities. (Including but not limited to supply networks, waste drainage systems, gas supplies, heating pipework, etc.)
- Ensure effective communication, making required mechanical service calls, assistance to cross-functional teams/departments, and providing ongoing technical support/expertise.
- Oversee vendor maintenance programs.
- Manage building automation system.
- Additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Technical degree in engineering or related.
- 3-5 years of experience performing equipment maintenance with basic mechanical and electrical work.
- Knowledgeable and skilled in troubleshooting mechanical systems.
- Must obtain Refrigeration Operating Engineer License or a Grade 3 Steam Engineer License or complete the second level of a Building Operator Certification program within 9 months of job acceptance.
- HVAC experience.
- Experience with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, lighting systems, electrical work, and related.
- Strong knowledge of building automation systems.
- Familiar with AutoCAD or Revit software.
- Motivated and driven, with the ability to work both independtly with little supervision, and collaboratively across departments.
- Strong organization and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once.
- Excellent communication skills.
- This position requires a rotational on-call shift.
