lines productsppememstrongWhat does an Deputy Financial Controllerstrongstrongdo at CollinsonstrongememppThe Deputy Financial Controller will work within the Insurance division of the Collinson Group They will work as an integral part of the finance team alongside the Financial Controller Insurance with oversight and management of the Financial Reporting Insurance Team and the Operational Teams AP AR and day to day cash management through which this role will support the production of the statutory accounts as well as being key points of contact during the audit processppThe Deputy Financial Controller role will have oversight of the Insurance monthly management accounts reviewing the accuracy of the results and balance sheet reconciliations support any process system changes within the team and support the teams with onboarding new renewing clients as well as ensuring a strong and effective control environment exists with a specific emphasis on improving month end close and accountingppememstrongemstrongstrongKey responsibilities of this role includestrongstrongemstrongemempulliDay to day team management including objective setting and regular one to one reviews of the Finance Operations Manager the Insurance Financial Accountants and the Reconciliations Accountant along with supporting the wider teamsliliSupport the Insurance Financial Reporting team in the delivery of all Group reporting including monthly management packs and annual Group Audit Packs ensuring they are completed in line with Group deadlines for the specified entities Ensure compliance to general financial reporting standards as well as standards for Insurance Reporting (FRS and IFRS) lili Provision of accurate financial reporting to the insurance lines of business and take ownership from a Financial Reporting team perspective at meetings with Underwriting & Actuarial teams lili Deliver clarity of understanding for financial reporting at schemeclient level is provided to Line of Business owners and provide support on the all key calculations (eg Profit share in currency etc)lili Support the Insurance Financial Reporting team in the review of monthly P&L trend analysis and analytical reviews for their entityentities to ensure Group and the business have a good insight into key movements and the financial performance of each entity highlighting any exceptions to managementlili Ensure all insurance transactions within the Operations and Reporting teams are processed accurately while adhering to regulatory requirementslili Develop and motivate staff by providing them with clear direction to achieve their goalslili Manage quarterly BSR (Balance Sheet Review) meetings with the team providing oversight to the Financial Controller Insurance ensuring the process and sign off aligns to Group policy and the Finance team can support the as at date balanceslili Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders including Commercial Finance Underwriting and Actuarial to ensure the integrity in the numbers being recorded in the management accounts and provide support on the variance to budget analysislili Support the Financial Controller Insurance on all audits (including but not limited to internal suprdsup party or yearend) reviewing the year end Group Statutory packs with supporting evidence for balances as required as well as assist with managing audit requests ensuring the evidence for audit samples is sufficient to support the sample requests and performing the walkthroughs with explanations for postings and processeslili Ensure reconciliations for systems feeds into SAP form part of the management accounts financial statementslili Assist with continuous embedding and delivery of the Finance Transformation projectlili Ensure robust controls are in place and look to enhance where possiblelili Keeping abreast of technical accounting developments to ensure that the impact of changes are understood and applied on a timely basis specifically FRS and IFRS and lili Ensuring all process documents are regularly reviewed and updatedli liProvide regulatory reporting for VAT IPT Corporation Tax and any rd party reporting as requiredliliStrive to deliver process improvements delivering best in class processesememstrongstrongememliulpememstrongstrongstrongKey skills and experience to be evidenced within your application includestrongstrongstrongemempulliMinimum years experience in a Senior Management role within the Financial Services sector including experience in a senior role in the general insurance industry is preferredliliLeadership experience with successful examples of driving and managing change for projects and programs of workliliQualified Accountant (ACCA CIMA ACA or Equivalent) or qualified by experienceliliProven Insurance related experience at a similar level Regulated entity (eg PRAMFSA) liliProven Solvency II knowledge in Pillar III is preferablelili Good knowledge of SAP accounting system preferablelili High personal levels of motivation and delivery orientated focuslili Able to work well under pressurelili A proactive forward looking and challenging mindsetlili Detail focused
