We are searching for an Electrical Engineering Technician. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of PLC-driven electrical systems, ensuring that machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure function seamlessly. This role demands a hands-on, proactive approach during the plant's startup and commissioning phase and an unwavering commitment to the upkeep of the facility's electrical components during regular operations.
Qualifications:
Strong foundational knowledge in AC/DC, motor controls, PLC, Controls, instrumentation, and HMI.
A minimum of five years of experience in an electrical engineering technician capacity.
Familiarity with the nuances of a high-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with steel or hot metals will be an added advantage.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment specifications.
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
Demonstrated proficiency in working autonomously.
Flexible work schedule, with availability for 12-hour swing/rotating shifts, including weekends.
Physically fit to endure demanding tasks, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and adapt to varying temperature conditions.
A proactive approach to challenges, a strong work ethic, and meticulous attention to detail.
Essential Duties
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to and uphold all safety and environmental requirements, protocols, and standards. Ensure full compliance with the company's Code of Business Conduct.
Technical Leadership: Showcase electrical expertise during the plant startup and commissioning phases. Spearhead troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives.
Electrical Installations: Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to assist in the installation of new machinery, equipment, lifts, and conveyor systems. Ensure adherence to NEC codes, OSHA regulations, and organizational safety protocols.
Routine Maintenance: Execute preventive maintenance checks and audits on electrical equipment, ensuring the longevity and optimal functioning of engines, motors, valves, tools, conveyor systems, and more.
Blueprint Analysis: Review and prepare technical blueprints, drawings, and equipment specifications to guide installations and repairs.
Troubleshooting: Address electrical malfunctions in PLCs, equipment, and circuits. Prioritize determining root causes and executing timely repairs.
Equipment Uptime: Work closely with the production team to ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
Lean Manufacturing: Implement and advocate for lean manufacturing principles, including 6S techniques, to promote operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Collaboration: Engage with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to align operational goals and metrics, ensuring smooth facility operations.
Education:
Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent electrical certification.
