Job Description

NICU experience required36 hours per week - every other weekend and holiday , this is a day / night positionCall up to once a weekCertifications:Respiratory Therapist - Registered | North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary SourcesBasic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 days of Start Date | Learning Management SystemPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 5 Months of Start Date | Learning Management SystemNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) | RQI Partners | Within 5 Months of Start Date | Learning Management SystemJob DescriptionPerforms and documents evaluation and patient assessment which correlates to the patient diagnosis. Reviews medical records and care plans and modifies the plan of care based on patient's progress. Provides diagnostic and therapeutic treatment and physician assistance. Provides appropriate patient education, family teaching and support which correlate to the patient and family needs. Documents appropriately. Identifies significant changes in patient's condition and takes appropriate action, as evidenced in reporting, staffing and documentation. Communicates pertinent information to appropriate caregivers. Documents appropriately. Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure. Completes all documentation, including order entry, verification, electronic medical record (EMR), medication charting, patient safety/incident variance reports, equipment repair tags, etc. according to standard operating procedure. Processes patient charges. Runs and verifies reports as needed. Disassembles, cleans, assembles respiratory equipment and performs preventative maintenance according to standard operating procedure. Properly tags equipment in need of preventative maintenance, safety check or repair and notified appropriate department and/or delivers equipment to them. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. Additional Job Description Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure. Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and compliance with: All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines. Working safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others or property. The work environment safety procedures and prompt reporting of unsafe practices, procedures, accidents, injuries or other safety violations to the Leader. The use of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment.

Shift: combination of days/nights worked and every other weekend
