Operations Manager

Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, Monday – Friday
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000
Location: Carlisle

NXT Recruitment is proud to announce we are working with an esteemed business in the Carlisle area that is hiring for the position of an Operations Manager to join their professional team.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate for the position of Operations Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day warehouse and operational side of the business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth functioning of all appropriate aspects within the company. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional management and communication skills to drive the productivity, to improve processes, and maintain a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead an experienced team, setting clear expectations, and providing guidance and support to achieve departmental and organisational goals.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Continuously assess and improve operational processes identifying opportunities for streamlining and optimising workflows.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources, including personal equipment and materials to meet operational needs.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products and services meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Monitor operational budgets, control costs and seek opportunities for cost saving without compromising quality.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant industry standards, regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare regular operational reports, highlight key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent service.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
Experience and Skills
  • Previous experience of managing and motivating a team while driving a positive work environment.
  • Capable of developing short-term and long-term strategies to achieve operational objectives and company goals.
  • Proficient in identifying issues, analysing complex situations and finding effective solutions to improve operations and mitigate challenges.
  • Understanding of financial principles and the ability to manage budgets, control costs and identify areas for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Skilled in implementing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure products and services meet or exceed industry standards.
