About the role

Lanpro are in an exciting period of growth and are seeking a Junior Arboriculture Consultant or recent graduate who can bring their arboricultural expertise and enthusiasm to this small and innovative team which is growing in demand.

Someone with tree inspection and surveying experience in the context of both development and tree health and condition assessments. The vacancy is ideal for someone to further gain exposure, develop and hone their skills and progress in their career in Arboriculture consultancy.

There is a wide variety of multi-disciplinary projects throughout the North of the United Kingdom and you will have the opportunity to provide support to and gain experience in all aspects of private sector arboricultural consultancy.

Field work is a key component of the role so this should be something you enjoy and you will ideally have access to transport and hold a full UK driving license.

You will learn to provide technical arboricultural solutions in the design and build environment, designing out trees where possible. You'll ideally be based out of our York offices but there is scope to be based out of our offices in Manchester with a hybrid working arrangement available.

Competence Requirements

  • Proficient undertaking BS 5837 Tree Survey s producing Arboriculture Impact
  • Assessments (AIA) and Arboriculture Method Statements (AMS)
  • Good knowledge of trees species and understanding of tree conditions, defects, and characteristics.
  • Able to travel to sites and can work alone in varied weather conditions.
  • Hold a valid level 3 qualification in Arboriculture and desirably have obtained the professional tree inspection qualification.
  • Experience using tree surveying software such are arborcad or axiscape (desirable but not essential)
  • Business finance and report writing skills- Desktop Computer skills : A basic knowledge of AutoCAD would be desirable alongside word processing, databases, spread sheets)
  • Pest identification and control
  • Protection of trees on construction sites
  • Pruning principals and techniques

*Site visits and survey work forms part of the role, sometimes in more remote locations, therefore a Full UK driving license is essential for this role.
