Job Description

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to ensure an excellent service to Bank ABC s customers. This role falls in the Lending & Distribution vertical in Client & Transaction Services and the primary focus is on primary and secondary lending and distribution.

The role involves close collaboration with, among others, the Head of Financial Institutions and the Global Trade Debt & Distribution team, as well as relationship managers in Wholesale Banking Coverage, the Loans Administration team in Operations, and the other verticals in CTS.


Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Deliverables

The Lending & Distribution vertical in CTS is responsible for delivering services direct to clients, thereby supporting the work of the Head of Financial Institutions as well as the Wholesale Banking Coverage and Product Sales teams. This must be done in a consistent and properly controlled manner, working in close collaboration with other internal departments and in compliance with relevant procedures.

The role holder will achieve this through their line management of their direct report in the Lending & Distribution vertical in CTS, together with their own hands-on management of complex facilities and transactions. They will also write procedures and continue to review and implement changes to policies, procedures and processes to streamline and improve the service to Bank ABC s customers.

It is a key requirement of the Interim Team Lead role to model Client-centric, Collaborative and Consistent behaviors. The role holder must exhibit these behaviors at all times and guide their team to do the same, as part of the wider culture in CTS.

As interim team lead, the job holder will be ultimately responsible for the day-to-day work of the Lending & Distribution vertical, including the following activities to be performed by the vertical:

  • Directly deal with enquiries from, facilitate the transactions of, and build relationships with Bank ABC s customers (including insurance & investor base).
  • Act as focal point for internal queries in order to ensure smooth and efficient collaboration.
  • Help colleagues in the Wholesale Banking Coverage and Product Sales teams with providing direct support to customers.
  • Structure and execute new facilities and transactions. This involves working with Coverage RMs / Product Sales where relevant, driving compliance with timelines and SLAs, coordinating with customers and other internal and external parties and ensuring all credit, compliance and other internal requirements are met. More particularly, this work includes:
  • Implementing confidentiality agreements, working on term sheets, supporting Coverage RMs / Product Sales with relevant aspects of credit applications, and noting significant credit approval requirements to ensure due compliance in execution.
  • Working on facility / framework agreements, whether drafting standard agreements (using suitable templates), collaborating with lawyers on bespoke agreements, liaising with the customer and internal stakeholders in order to finalize the agreement, and obtaining relevant internal sign-offs and customer agreement.
  • Liaise with customers and relevant RMs as necessary to regarding relevant insurance policies / other risk mitigation, details of relevant obligors, facility details, and any changes thereto, and ensure these are reviewed by and/or transmitted to the relevant departments.
  • Working on one-off transaction documentation, including purchase contracts and MRPAs.
  • Preparing notifications of new commitment and/or TAPS tickets (or equivalents), obtaining internal sign-off, updating Operations accordingly, and taking any other practical steps required in order to get to first utilization of the relevant facility.
  • Preparing deal summaries / key features sheets and the like for the sake of good order.
  • Coordinate with Clients, CDD specialists and Operational Support in order to ensure prompt on boarding of clients.
  • Support GTDD in the maintenance and growth of its investor base, and inter-connected activities thereof
  • Support GTDD in the execution of distribution activities, including but not limited to, inter-group asset transfers, cash cover and third-party sales.
  • Prepare relevant credit / administrative applications in the Credit Management System ( CMS ) from a business perspective (that is, not credit analysis). This will include increases, lapses, freezes and unfreezes.
  • Prepare FI-related credit applications and reviews in CMS, in liaison with the Global Trade & Distribution team.
  • Perform checks, submit instructions and obtain approvals through Bank ABC s systems as required for delivery of services (TAPS tickets, PDC checks, Regulatory Risk approvals and Daily Commitments approvals as relevant).
  • Arrange for any other approvals required for facilities / transactions / drawdowns as may be required.
  • Onboard customers onto our relevant digital systems and provide initial training and on-going support as required. Refer any technical issues to agreed support functions.
  • Receive escalations from Operations regarding any issues and take necessary action to escalate further and/or resolve these matters in a timely manner.
  • Support relevant RMs with the tracking of credit conditions / covenants and escalate any concerns.
  • Create and maintain other client / transaction-related records in order to ensure consistent and efficient processing.
  • Update and maintain standard and bespoke client rates/tariffs and instructions.
  • Keep an overview of the Bank s correspondent banking population and highlight any changes / concerns to stakeholders as required.
  • In support of the Head of FIs, maintain an overview of the Bank's SWIFT RMA connections.
  • Review SWIFT RMA requests from other FIs and liaise with Head of FIs to approve / decline. Assist with setting up new SWIFT RMA or making changes as may be required


Knowledge

  • Advanced understanding of wholesale banking products, loans in particular, and the end-to-end processes involved in delivering those products to the Bank s clients.
  • Advanced understanding of transaction/ facility structuring
  • Advanced understanding of credit, compliance and operational requirements relating to lending and distribution.
  • Solid computer skills with capability to use spreadsheets, graphic and presentation packages to review and create professional materials will be an advantage.


Experience

  • The job holder will benefit from experience in a role similar to the present one, together with other relevant experience and skills. This will include exposure to a similar role in the banking sector or banking operations environment within the financial service industry.
  • Extensive experience of loan structuring and execution is required.
  • Experience of building and managing complex relationships with significant customers
