Job Description:

Mandatory Skills:

• 3+ years experience as Buyer
• Interface closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Marketing and Finance as support to New Product Development.
• Assist Senior Buyers and Production Buyer/Planners with orders and deliveries as it relates to R&D development.
• ERP system knowledge is preferred
• Participate in and initiate cost reduction projects.
• Capable of coordinating purchased items.
• Develop and verify purchase orders for quantity, price, due date and supplier per Buyer's parameters.
• Convert approved purchase requisitions into purchase orders
• Expedite and de-expedite purchase orders due to changes in demand or count.
• Be responsive and accountable for securing supplier compliance information.
• Create and track purchase requirements in support of R&D projects
• Aggressively track and communicate past due purchase orders.
• Communicate closely with suppliers to improve delivery and service
• Initiate contacts with shop floor regarding supplier quality/delivery issues

Preferred Skills:

• College degree preferred
• APICS certification preferred
• An excellent attendance record
• Knowledge of planning/procurement systems
• Ability to interface with external suppliers
• Capability to work in a team environment for special projects implementation
