Job Description


Actively seeking a dedicated Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to provide critical support to our government customer in Annapolis Junction, MD. As an ISSE with us, youll play a pivotal role in assessing and enhancing the security posture of computing environments, ensuring compliance with Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and devising effective mitigation strategies.

Requirements


Clearance: Top Secret SCI Full Scope Polygraph Required

Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Certifications: Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) and CISSP Certifications



Experience:

  • Twenty (20) years of experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

  • DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 3.

  • Both Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) and CISSP Certifications are required.

  • A Master s degree in a related field may substitute for two (2) years of experience, reducing the requirement to eighteen (18) years of experience.

  • Four (4) years of additional ISSE experience may substitute for a bachelor s degree.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities.

  • Validate and verify system security requirements, defining security designs.

  • Develop and integrate IA and security systems for various computing and networking environments, including those with differing data protection requirements.

  • Enforce security policies and contribute to building security architectures.

  • Assess and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.

  • Review certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation for completeness and compliance.

  • Apply expertise in system security engineering principles and practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor s degree and 5+ years or Master s and 3+ years of related experience Strong problem-solving, systems analysis, planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Strong foundation in applying data management domains with the ability to communicate data management concepts and best practices to data engineers, data architects, and data stewards, to support implementing a data management framework. Understanding of related technologies (e.g., relational and non-relational databases, cloud platforms, data catalogs, data modeling, ETL, SQL, and Python). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office tool suites Data Management life cycle, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Databricks, BI tools (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, etc.) Ability to work collaboratively and independently Ability to learn technologies proactively and quickly and solve problems Strong attention to detail, oral and written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Top Secret / SCI clearance required DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with the U.S. government on areas concerning national security. Experience supporting Cloud Technologies, Data Engineering/Data Science knowledge, Cloud technologies, Analytic Tools
