Growing Food Company in the Saginaw, Michigan area has a need for a Maintenance Technician. Work in all facilities including elevators, plant food locations, flour mills and transportation department for the repair, maintenance or installation of equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Responsible for facility and equipment; maintenance, repair, installation and proper cleaning of plant and equipment. This may involve using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and precision measuring instruments.
· Operate loaders, fork trucks, cranes, trucks and other equipment used in the maintenance department.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
· Safety Compliance: Ensure all machinery and equipment meet safety standards and regulations. Implement and follow safety protocols and practices to prevent accidents and injuries. Follow and lead others to follow all required policy and procedures regarding, but not limited to on-site safety protocol, bin rescue training, safety documentation, and maintenance computer logs.
· Maintain all required food safety certification records.
· Uphold all food safety policies and ensure they are implemented and followed.
· Emergency repairs: Respond to breakdowns and emergency repair situations promptly to minimize production downtime.
Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of various hand and power tools
· Proficiency in welding, machining, and fabrication techniques
· Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces
· Minimum of Chauffeur’s license
· Must not be afraid of heights
