zOS Systems Programmer - 2 Days in Office Per Month

Our client is a leading technology company with a presence in Farnborough, United Kingdom. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated z/OS Programmer to join their team. If you possess deep expertise in z/OS operating systems, basic Linux knowledge, and a passion for technology, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Tasks

• z/OS System Administration: Effectively manage, configure, and monitor z/OS operating systems to ensure system stability, security, and performance.
• Linux Proficiency: Possess a basic understanding of Linux operating systems to facilitate interactions between z/OS and Linux environments.
• Mainframe Application Support: Collaborate closely with application development teams to troubleshoot, debug, and enhance z/OS-based applications.
• Database Management (Nice to Have): Familiarity with PostgreSQL for database administration and optimization is advantageous.
• CICS Support (Nice to Have): Provide assistance in the management and maintenance of Customer Information Control System (CICS) for transaction processing

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in z/OS system administration, with a strong grasp of mainframe environments.
• Basic knowledge of Linux to facilitate cross-environment interactions.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and CICS is a plus.
