Job Title: Software Architect

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to become the key technical lead in an Agile environment for the Solutions Development Group (SDG) team in our growing technology firm in Dublin, Ohio. The team members who make up this software development team are specialists in data management and software development, allowing them to create unique business solutions.
The Software Architect will play the role of team lead, system architect, lead software developer, security expert, and scrum master. They will take high level strategic guidance about the business problem a software solution is attempting to solve and determine how to create it. They must be a champion of modern DevOps practices to continuously improve our organization.
Key Responsibilities
Leads activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics
Leads software research and development projects
Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, and processes
Work closely with management and technical leads to deliver first time quality products
Lead estimating efforts for future development work
Trains and mentors others
Actively pursues opportunities to continuously learn and improve core software skills, team processes, and systems.
Critical Competencies
Strong understanding of software security fundamentals
Comfortable leading the development of a SaaS application
Highly detail- and results-oriented and comfortable working with a minimum of intra-day direction or feedback. We are seeking individuals who have a high level of initiative and take personal ownership in their roles and responsibilities.
Not shy about learning, nor reluctant to build bridges to accomplish goals.
Disciplined curiosity: interest in asking why and synthesizing important findings into alternatives and recommendations.
Confidence in tackling new business or technical challenges.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in software development
Demonstrated experience with Java, Spring Boot, MVC, MongoDB, REST APIs, Web Development
Demonstrated experience with all aspects of cloud software
Demonstrated experience in a software organization following modern DevOps practices
Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Must be able to commute to Dublin, Ohio office.
