Summary:
The main function of a designer is to create, modify and implement CAD drawings. In addition, design parts, assemblies, and fixtures.
The person must have knowledge of Solidworks, experience with Detailed drawings, and experience working in a Regulated industry.
They also must be able to work independently and have a demonstrated
background doing so, must be able to communicate and be easy to work with, and want to be a part of a team.
Job Responsibilities:
Create SolidWorks drawing and implement redlines
Knowledge and technical proficiency in drawing standards, various manufacturing processes and part design
Design and build complex prototypes, sub-assemblies, and prepare feasibility test units, may include making material recommendations
Perform test and identify failure modes on systems and equipment and propose and implement technical solutions
May build prototypes
Independently problem solve and perform root cause analysis for a wide range of engineering activities
Skills:
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills and problem solving ability.
Experience in SolidWorks and Windchill
Ability to identify problems and relevant issues in the most complex situations, assessing using standard procedures and propose solutions
Ability to use all manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment; use tools such measuring equipment
Must be able to work independently in completing complex projects, developing work instructions
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or experience.
5-7 years experience preferred.
