We are looking for a safety-minded, Fleet Mechanic to diagnose, adjust, repair, maintain heavy equipment Cat loaders, pavers, asphalt rollers, HAMM rollers, Peterbilt, Freightliner trucks safely and efficiently.

Here s what you will do:

  • Diagnose the source of malfunction using a variety of electronic tools and determine the extent of repairs required.
  • Perform repair or preventative maintenance on electrical, diesel and gasoline vehicles, including asphalt rollers, excavator, wheel loader, pavers, rock trucks, commercial trucks, and other vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations. Typical repairs and maintenance would include work on engines, transmissions, chassis, drive-lines, and body components, hydraulic, air brake systems, electrical, suspension systems and HVAC.
  • Repair and / or replacement of the following: engine system, transmission system, clutch system, air brake system, wheel end assembly, suspension system, cooling system, coupling system, charging system and light system.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge to diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment and commercial trucks.
  • Read and interpret equipment condition reports and / or repair orders, communicate with supervisor for clarification of defects and discuss preventive techniques.
  • Complete paperwork associated with repairing equipment, documenting parts usage and accounting for applied times (i.e., work order times compared to time card times).
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 3 years of auto mechanic experience. Experience with Heavy equipment is a huge plus.
  • Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on heavy equipment, Classes 1-5 light / medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks.
  • Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
  • Have a valid driver s license (no exceptions). Commercial Driver s License a plus!
  • Able to pass the DOT medical exam (or already have your DOT card), and all DOT requirements.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Follow directions from management yet work independently.
  • Experience is usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • We provide basic tools; you will need your own tools.
