Job Description

Horizon Controls Group are currently looking to recruit a Solutions Architect Engineer - Single Use Bioreactor Systems (Gene Therapy) to join our team and work on key client projects.

Location: Indianapolis

Job Role: Solutions Architect

The Solutions Architect will play a critical role in designing and implementing cutting-edge single use bioreactor systems optimised for gene therapy applications. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in bioprocess technology, a deep understanding of gene therapy production, and the ability to work cross-functionally with both internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design: Architect and design scalable and efficient single use bioreactor systems tailored for gene therapy applications.

Technical Expertise: Stay up to date with the latest developments in single use bioreactor technologies and gene therapy manufacturing practices.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and external partners to ensure the designed solutions are practical, efficient, and compliant.

Vendor Management: Engage with suppliers and manufacturers to evaluate, select, and integrate the best technologies for our needs.

Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all designs and systems adhere to industry regulations, standards, and best practices.

Training & Support: Provide technical training to staff and stakeholders and assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution as needed.

Continuous Improvement: Monitor system performance, gather feedback, and iterate on designs for ongoing optimization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in biomedical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Master s or PhD preferred.

Minimum of 5 years experience in bioprocess or bioreactor design, with a specific focus on single use systems.

Familiarity with gene therapy manufacturing processes and requirements.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with bioreactor modelling and simulation tools.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
