The Company
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced German-speaking, Brand Account Manager with Brand Management experience working within the FMCG sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful global packaging design agency with 30 years -experience of designing and producing global brands that win at the retail shelf, based in South London.
Tasks
Overall Responsibility:
Brand Management
- Responsible for developing, communicating, and implementing effective brand strategies, for key clients, delivering against objectives and deadlines.
- To carry out market research to identify and analyse current trends in branding and design.
- Manage a variety of projects from concept to market, developing brands for new products and packaging.
- To deliver effective and professional brand presentations to clients.
- Strategic brand management for corporate clients which includes developing brands; the strategy of initiation of creating brands through to the creation of brand guidelines, in accordance with required deadlines.
Account/Project Management
- Responsible for the running of accounts, projects and complete brands, and for maintaining long-standing client relationships as well as building and maintaining strong internal relationships across the company.
- To own and independently manage a large number of projects and/or complete brands from taking the initial brief from the client to obtaining approval to release the project to the client, working closely with the internal Design, Retouching, Artwork and Quality Control teams to facilitate the production of packaging for our clients.
- Have detailed knowledge of all your brands and your brand guidelines, ensure consistency of design and production across all product packaging and outer cases within the brands.
- Analyse, understand, question and challenge German client briefs.
- Be able to confidently advise clients on timelines for the design and artwork process, the requirements for branded and own-label packaging and the details of specific client (brand) guidelines.
- Have complete and detailed knowledge of our clients corporate, barcode, nutritional declaration and sustainability guidelines.
- Write briefings for internal design, photoshoot and digital artwork projects and brief the design or artwork team on individual projects.
- Effectively manage the timing and execution of the internal design and artwork process.
- Have a good understanding of cutter guides for packaging and of print processes. Identify potential difficulties in the print process for each project early and discuss them with the artwork/production department and the printers.
- Organise photoshoots, get quotations, book photographers and home economists, organise/source product samples, write photo briefings etc.
People Management
- Line Manager to Junior Account/Project Managers and/or Account/Project Managers as appropriate.
- Responsible for general day-to-day management, monitoring and measuring performance, carrying out annual appraisals and identifying development needs.
- Ensuring there is adequate cover during holiday times and sickness for all direct reports.
Requirements
Skills and Experience Required.
- Fluent in German
- Previous experience working within Brand Management dealing with German clients
- Previous experience working within the retail/FMCG sector
- Previous experience managing a creative process
