Client Overview
Our client is a multinational global leader in the flow controls solutions industry,with a strong brand reputation in the worldwide market. To aid in their daily operations, we are looking for an Automation Engineer to add to their manufacturing facility.

REPORTS TO:IT Manager

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Find the correct vision cameras and program them to find the specified defects. Automate this whole process.
  • Required to design, plan, develop and run automating systems and ensure that these systems work at peak efficiency all the time.
  • Create fully automated program from cradle to grave and troubleshoot current automation and programming
  • Robotics programming, including 6 axis, 4 axis, and Cartesian from scratch and troubleshooting
  • Responsible to troubleshoot the automation problems that arise in the systems and make sure that they are back in proper working order.
  • Participate in automation tool selection process for an automated component assembly & testing
  • Responsible for automation machine design related duties and design specifications
  • Prepare capital justification package of obtaining automation equipment.
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain acceptable bids for construction of automated equipment.
  • Manage automation projects and vendors from start to finish.
  • Prepare documentation including operator manuals, set-up manuals and service manuals.
  • Maintain systems data related to your functional responsibilities according to the matrix located on SharePoint/Global Share Documents/Information Technology/Systems Data Maintenance/.
  • Assist the field service technicians to troubleshoot problems as required.
  • Assist the builders of the equipment in the resolution of problems to complete the project.
  • Develop a test plan to verify that the equipment meets all relevant specifications including safety standards.
  • Actively participate in 5S program by achieving and consistently maintaining 3S or higher in personal work area.
  • Participate in rotating 5S schedule as auditor for local facility and owner for local common areas.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor s degree in automation engineering or a degreed mechanical, electrical, electronics engineer with at least 5 years experience in the Automation field.
  • Experience with PLC, Denso Robotics, Automation Direct, Micrologix, Wago, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, SLC, RSLogix, RSLinx, PanelView, Controllogix, UltraWare, ORMEC, DeviceNet, Profibus, Ethernet I/O, Beckhoff, and automation languages
  • Working knowledge of high-level programming language such as Intelligent Actuator XSEL, Visual Basic, IAI robot system.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to dissect a problem and form solutions that meet real-time constraints.
  • Proven track record in engineering leadership as well as the ability to develop and implement standard engineering practices providing detailed documentation upon project completion.
  • Vision system experience is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt experience is a plus.
