The Process Improvement Engineer reports to the Bowling Green Engineering Manager. In this role, you will oversee capital projects as well as process improvements throughout the Bowling Green facility. The Process Improvement Engineer will develop capital requests and support production improvements to meet the changing needs of the business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
- Optimizes manufacturing processes using statistical analyses, design of experiment, and six sigma methodologies.
- Performs process calculations and equipment sizing leading to specifications
- Works with engineering manager to manage plant capital program.
- Assists in developing the annual capital plan
- Oversees capital projects
- Develops engineering solutions to process failures and other quality problems that adversely affect customer service, such as throughput, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
- Partnerswith Production to performanalyses of systems including:
- Throughput optimization
- Reduction of cycle times
- Efficiency improvements with heating/cooling systems
- Yield improvements
- Assists with external, internal, plant-wide and departmental Environmental Health, Safety & Security audits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assists with PHAs as needed
Required Education, Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or advanced degreein Chemical Engineering
- Knowledge and experience in chemical manufacturing processes
- Experience in an industrial production environment
- Application of statistical techniques and software for data analysis and interpretation
- 5-10 years’ experience required, 10 years preferred
