Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to lead, coach and develop a professional customer-facing team, while gaining valuable in-depth experience in Lubrizol Advanced Materials (LZAM) Supply Chain. Lubrizol Engineered Polymers has one of the most diverse, global, interconnected supply chain networks within Lubrizol, spanning twelve manufacturing facilities and forty-eight distribution centers. The supply chain leadership role for Engineered Polymers offers a significant opportunity to think strategically, improve processes and collaborate globally to drive business value.

Job Scope:

  • Serve on theLubrizol Advanced Materials Supply Chain Leadership TeamandEstane Leadership Team
  • Accountability for Engineered Polymers supply chain performance and deliverables globally
  • Serve as the right hand for the EP General Manager and leadership team in improving customer experience and cost-to-serve for Engineered Polymers
  • Provide leadership to strengthen EP’s value proposition by identifying opportunities to make it easier for customers to do business with us
  • Supervise, coach and develop team members in supply planning, inventory management and customer service
  • Collaborate closely with the logistics team to drive transportation and warehousing strategies, cost and delivery performance for Engineered Polymers
  • Identify value leaks and help leverage efficiencies across Engineered Polymers supply chain
  • Provide timely and high-quality response to requests and feedback from internal and external customers
  • Drive continuous improvement of the value and quality of EP supply chain services by collaborating with the relevant cross-functional partners

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

  • Drive a culture of safety, reliability, efficiency and superior customer experience
  • Embrace and drive Sales and Operations Planning: design and implement supply chain strategies that are closely aligned and integrated with EP business strategies
  • Collaborate closely with the commercial team and operations partner functions to drive customer experience metrics and cost-to-serve targets
  • Lead and manage supply chain processes that drive key performance indicators while promoting a customer-focused culture
  • Manage the effective and efficient delivery of EP products to warehouses, distributors and end customers within established standard lead times
  • Manage inventory optimization and inventory control processes, including Non-Working Slow Moving (NWSM) inventory
  • Reduce LZAM’s exposure to risks through the recognition of trends, root cause analysis, and the implementation of preventive measures
  • When appropriate, review and follow-up on non-conformities, especially customer complaints, to ensure timely resolution, in partnership with other relevant functions
  • Coach and develop the team to elevate the knowledge of supply chain management, use of standard tools, processes, data and analytics to make the best decisions
  • Support the implementation of supply chain standard service offerings as designed
  • Manage stakeholder communication and expectations
  • Use reports and develop compelling analyses to support supply chain strategies and business decisions
  • Drive special projects, as needed, to help Engineered Polymers achieve improved customer satisfaction while minimizing waste and managing the cost-to-serve

Key Metrics that measure the success of this role:

  • Safety, People Development, Sales and Operations Planning maturity level, On Time In Full (OTIF), NWSM, Freight Cost, Warehousing Cost, Customer Complaints %

Requirements – education, experience, skills:

  • Degree in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering, supply chain, chemistry, business etc.) Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 15 years of work experience in a business domain
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading people
  • Passion for excellence and continuous improvement
  • Strong service-orientation and focus on customers
  • Persistence and discipline, with a drive for results
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Process orientation
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Proven analytical skills, especially in the supply chain domain
  • SAP proficiency (including BW, BOBJ)

Considered a plus:

  • Experience working with global teams in multinational companies
  • Experience in the chemicals industry
  • Advanced educational qualifications (e.g. MBA)
  • Experience in marketing, product management, customer service or sales
  • APICS certification (e.g. CPIM, CLTD, CSCP)
  • ERP Implementation or Super User experience
  • Knowledge of specialty chemicals product portfolio / applications / technology
  • Kinaxis Rapid Response proficiency
