We are looking for an Xwifi Networking Engineer with load balancer expertise! Join our team to enhance our failover system using F5 technology. Responsibilities:
1. Network Design and Planning-
- Enhance the performance of the current network infrastructure to maximize efficiency, capacity, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with XWiFi Engineers to design new features and improvements for the existing network design and configuration.
- Proactively model network capacity to predict routing and topology changes in failure scenarios
2. Network Implementation and Configuration:
- Plan and implement network upgrades, expansions, and changes.
- Manage network configurations for LAB and production environments.
- Coordinate installation and configuration of network updates.
- Conduct unit testing of network and load balancer (LB) changes with XWiFi QA.
- Define and communicate standard procedures for network installation, maintenance, and operations.
- Follow change management processes for seamless implementation and completion.
- Contribute to process automation efforts to streamline operations.
3. Network Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Keep a close eye on network performance, promptly identifying and addressing any issues.
- Build and improve dashboards and alerts for key network elements to ensure effective monitoring
4. Network Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep comprehensive network documentation for both LAB and production environments.
- Generate regular reports on network performance, availability, and capacity to support decision-making and foster continuous process improvement
5. Network Security:
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access, data breaches, and malware threats.
- Configure firewalls and provide guidance on integrating intrusion detection systems to protect the XWiFi Core Network platform from DDoS attacks.
- Participate in regular network audits to ensure compliance with security standards.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster effective partnerships with engineers, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Share knowledge and offer guidance to support team members.
- Demonstrate consistent independent judgment and discretion in critical matters to ensure optimal service availability and customer experience.
- Work productively with minimal supervision.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation as primary or secondary.
- Available to work nights and weekends as required.
- Attain and maintain industry-standard certifications and ongoing education.
- Stay updated with the latest networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

- Firewall: Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG.
- Linux: CentOS preferred.
- L2 and TCP/IP Networking.

- Virtualization: VMware, Cloud.
- Coding skills: Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python.
- Scripting: Unix, Bash, Ansible.
- Protocols: RADIUS, DIAMETER, EAP, SOAP, SSH, SFTP, SCP.
- Tools: Zabbix, Grafana, Wireshark, IP Control, Netconf/YANG, Splunk, Prometheus/MaaS.
- CI/CD: GIT, GIT Copilot, Jenkins, Mortar, Docker.
- Database/Streaming: SQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka.
- WiFi RF and Networking: General/Advanced knowledge
Skills:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Arista switches and routers.
- Solid grasp of IP routing and switching protocols like ISIS, OSPF, and BGP.
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies and how they're used in networks.
- Understanding of integrating Network, OSS/BSS systems and familiarity with network security principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using monitoring and diagnostic tools to ensure optimal network availability and a great customer experience.
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex Xfinity WiFi network issues, outages, and performance problems.
- Ability to apply network programming techniques alongside traditional network configurations.
- Capable of creating and interpreting detailed requirements and technical specifications.
- Proficient in creating and understanding network documentation effectively.
- Proven business skills with the ability to collaborate professionally with internal teams and external vendors.
