As a Senior Network Engineer, you will:
- Be the primary point of contact between Verizon and the client, handling technical matters and strategic planning.
- Take ownership of two PIP networks, ensuring their smooth operation and maintenance.
- Report to the customer office in Princeton, NJ, based locally in New Jersey.
- Develop and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Implement best practices for network security, authentication, and data encryption.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, such as outages and security breaches.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to meet network requirements.
- Provide expertise in advanced networking and unified communications solutions.
- Provision and configure WAN/LAN and Wide Area Network technologies.
- Work closely with the customer's networking team.
- Utilize Verizon's trouble ticketing process for efficient ticket handling and resolution.
- Act as the on-site contact for incident response related to the Managed Services network.
- Participate in bridges and provide insightful reports on trouble resolution progress.
- Share technical knowledge and insights on Verizon's managed network services.
- Support change management activities, coordinating approved network changes.
- Promote best practices in trouble management and reporting with the WiPro team.
- Educate users on the benefits and functionality of the Sev-One management platform.
- Stay updated on off-hour duty managers and escalation contacts from Verizon.
- Regularly generate reports on incidents, changes, and ticket root causes.
- Escalate issues to Verizon's network and service management teams for resolution.
- Provide support during US business hours, occasionally addressing critical off-hour matters.
- Final approval subject to screening by Verizon.
Qualifications Needed:
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks and security solutions.
- Proficiency with Cisco Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco Wireless.
- Expertise in maintaining and upgrading networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and telecom equipment.
- Strong familiarity with TCP/IP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, DMVPN, and other routing protocols.
- Experience configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSEC/SSL VPN.
- Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
- Experience working with SD-WAN technology.
- Conceptual understanding of SASE/SSE
