Job Description

Job Title: Territory Sales Manager

Job Summary:

A leading agriculture technology company, is seeking a proactive and results-driven Territory Sales Manager to build long-term, profitable relationships with targeted customers. In this role, you will be responsible for achieving customer satisfaction targets, as well as revenue and net profit objectives. With your strong selling skills, technical expertise, and strategic thinking, you will contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

- Effectively determine customer needs, wants, and budget, utilizing your knowledge of our products and services to meet customer requirements.

- Demonstrate mastery of essential selling techniques, including prospecting, cold calling, qualifying, writing proposals, and closing deals.

- Salvage lost sales and maintain accurate and timely sales records.

- Achieve sales quota and ensure post-sale customer satisfaction.

- Make informed decisions by considering all available alternatives and seeking input and advice from others.

- Understand the impact of decisions on colleagues and other organizational units, while applying policies correctly.

- Follow up on projects and assignments, establish due dates, and ensure actions are taken within agreed timelines.

- Plan and implement ideas to persuade others and gain acceptance, anticipating objections and involving others to ensure support.

- Demonstrate strategic thinking by understanding the organization's mission, developing strategies to achieve goals, and staying abreast of the market, customers, competition, and technology.

- Utilize technical skills to implement the company's Consultative Selling and Data Management systems effectively.

- Accurately interpret soil tests and explain them to growers and colleagues.

- Understand and write variable rate seeding, N, P, and K recommendations and explain them to teammates and growers.

- Develop and expand sales territory, targeting 30-35 key producers.

- Implement marketing plan initiatives and contribute to profitable customer base growth.

- Handle and resolve customer complaints, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

- Utilize Microsoft/IOS Office and effectively work with CRM systems.

- Develop sales plans for assigned customers and prospects.

- Stay updated on industry trends and continuously enhance technical skills as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business, or a related field (preferred).

- Proven track record of success in sales, account management, or a similar role within the agriculture or technology industry (5-10 years).

- Strong selling skills with expertise in prospecting, cold calling, qualifying, proposal writing, and closing deals.

- Excellent decision-making abilities, including considering alternatives, seeking input, and making tough decisions.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and follow up on commitments.

- Persuasive communication skills with the ability to influence others and anticipate objections.

- Strategic thinking capabilities with a focus on achieving long-term goals and driving transformational change.

- Technical knowledge of agriculture-related products, such as soil testing and variable rate seeding.

- Proficiency in Microsoft/IOS Office and CRM systems.

- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.

This company offers a competitive base salary plus generous commission structure, PTO, 401K match, medical/vision/dental coverage and much more.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
