Job Description

Position Description:

We are seeking a Strategist that will be responsible, under the general direction of thehead of the Human Resources and Corporate Services P&PM organization or his/herdesignee, for overseeing just about every aspect of the business to ensure strategic plansare working effectively and that the Business Line will remain competitive. The incumbentis expected to support the Business Line Organizations to develop business improvementplans and strategies and monitor their execution. Participates in analysis and strategydevelopment that addresses short-term and long-term highly complex issues and problemsas required by senior management.Mentors, trains, and develops others.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelors degree from a leading college or university in Business.
    Administration, Computer Science, Economics, or Statistics, or in a related field.
  • It is preferred to have an advanced business degree (e.g., MBA) and/or relevantprofessional certification (e.g., CFA, PMP).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in top-tier strategy consulting, investmentbanking, private equity firm or similar organization.
  • You must have significant demonstrable work experience in the practice of strategydevelopment, review and implementation. Also, a strong knowledge of businesscase development is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be required to perform the following:

  • Monitor, evaluate and analyze market landscape, trends, competition,
    benchmarks, opportunities and threats.
  • Identify the needs of the business organization and develop plans to determine theoverall direction it should take to actualize its goals.
  • Develop & communicate strategies (planning, prioritization, and decision making)to address competition, changes in customer preference, and improvements intechnology and marketing tools.
  • Execute strategic plan including development of new businesses, investmentstrategies and put plans into action.
  • Work independently on day-to-day management of large- and medium-scaleprojects related to key business line initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops, translate conclusions into recommendations, or help designand implement large-scale organizational change programs.
    Support the annual planning process, tying budgets to projects and outcomes.
  • Address business problems, take a long-term perspective, but can also execute onnear term monthly goals. Identify operational inefficiencies, and develop solutionsincluding resource requirements, timing, and risks.
  • Build appropriate external and internal presentation materials on the Business Line
  • Strategies, Vision, Missions, etc...
  • Support ad-hoc management requests, analyses and reports.

Desired Competencies:

  • Communication skills: Applicants must possess excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills to clearly articulate the insights from findings to managementand relevant stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to influence for impact and abilityto produce top quality written and oral reports in English.
  • Problem-solving skills: They must be intellectually curious individuals with strongcreative and imaginative prowess to generate ideas to solve business problems.
  • Independent Critical thinking: They require strong critical thinking abilities to drawsound conclusions from information and various data sources at their disposal. It iscrucial that they can separate relevant information from less vital ones withrespect to solving a particular business problem. They must also have the capacityto analyze data objectively, applying logical thought and proffering solutions,
    taking a long-term perspective.
  • Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills: It is important that they can workwith large data sets to provide analytical support to all aspects of the business.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: Decision making involves some level of uncertainty, so itis important that applicants are comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Computer skills: Applicants should possess advanced excel skills and be proficientin PowerPoint for presentation purposes.
  • Collaborative skills: They must be able to work with cross-functional teams andhave the maturity to interact directly with senior executives across departments,as well as provide leadership to teams on the implementation of strategicinitiatives.
  • Risk Management knowledge (processes and tools).
  • ESG knowledge: knowledge of a diverse array of sustainability issues ranging fromsocial impacts to communities to technical, environmental and economic impactsassociated with key issues.
  • Sector of Experience: Experience in one or more of the following fields: aviation,marine, medical services, housing, utilities, transportation, safety, security, lossprevention, human resources, public affairs, corporate affairs.
