Job Description

Location: Austin, TX

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team at a Tier I Automotive Supplier's Plant in Austin, TX. The Quality Engineer will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards, are produced efficiently and meet customer requirements. This position reports to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control plans
  • Conduct product and process audits to identify non-conformances and drive corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve quality issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Lead and support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for internal and external quality issues
  • Perform capability studies, gauge R&R studies, and statistical process control analysis
  • Participate in new product launch activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer requirements
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quality of incoming materials and components
  • Maintain compliance with ISO/IATF quality standards and customer requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering within the automotive industry; Plastic Injection Molding a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, including ISO/IATF and TS16949
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality tools, such as SPC, FMEA, and root cause analysis
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with customers and suppliers
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred
