Job Description

Supervise, coach, mentor, build-up, and efficiently lead the Finance & Controlling in the region North America in close coordination with the Corporate Finance and Controlling Function. The scope includes existing plants in Mexico, USA and Canada, the regional US headquarters, and future plants in Americas. Staff includes project controllers, plant controllers & accountants.

Direct all financial and accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and payroll services.

Direct the preparation of reports relating to financial position of company compared to business plan. Interpret the results to all levels of management, based on U.S. GAAP, IFRS-GAAP and German GAAP

Develop and enforce the efficient use of SAP Finance & Accounting systems.

Responsible for preparation of business plan and rolling forecasts or the North American plants, regional headquarters, and the regions consolidation.

Responsible for treasury up to and including:

  • Cash management, including issuing statements of cash flow, cash flows forecasts, and maintaining daily corporate liquidity, cash forecasting, investment and debt management.
  • Administration of banking arrangements and loan agreements and assist with financing requirements.
  • Foreign exchange management including assessment of risk exposure and hedging foreign currency risk.

Arrange for audit of company records by outside auditors for U.S.

Ensure protection of the assets of the company through strong internal controls and ensuring proper insurance coverage. Responsible for administration of property, casualty and liability insurance coverage

Establish and administer finance and accounting policies.

Project Controlling & Financing

Supervise all Project Controlling activities including supporting Program Management and Sales functions in creating, updating, and releasing project P&L, project budgets, project financial opportunities and risks

Organize, supervise, continuously improve and support the planning, monitoring, reporting and gap analysis of Project budgets with Program Managers: revenue from OEMs in parts and tooling, material expenses, tracking of program hours, outsourced services

Administration Activities North America

Coordinate Legal activities with Corporate Counsel

Lead, plan and execute special assignments from the President and/ or the Corporate CFO and/ or the Global Director FC

Has the authority and obligation to stop production in case unsafe working conditions are observed. Has the obligation to notify the Director IO and the President for Safety related matters requiring immediate attention.

Understand and comply with Company EHS policy.

Education:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Business Administration/ Economics/ Finance or equivalent
  • Enhanced professional training on finance/ accounting/ IT subjects preferred

Professional Training/Technical Training:

  • Proficient use of SAP applications in Finance & Controlling
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in Finance, Controlling, Accounting functions of which 10+ years automotive industry
  • Of which minimum 10 years in a senior leadership role including personnel supervision, preferably multi-sit
  • Of which minimum 5 years in a production and/ or international environment, with interest for and hands-on approach to production activities

Related Experience/Specialized Knowledge:

  • Very organized, strong analytical skills
  • Profound knowledge & understanding of local GAAP & IFRS
  • Know how on internal control processes
  • Proven problem-solving skills, mediation skills
  • Entrepreneurial experience and high motivation to create, implement, enforce and continuously improve cross-functional business processes and standards together with other departments and other site
  • High motivation to support steady business growth
  • Experience in a multi-cultural environment is advantageous
