This Associate Scientist II requires an analytical chemistry background and experience with Good Manufacturing practices (cGMP).
- Quality control testing is conducted on semi-solids (creams, ointments, lotions, gels, etc.), liquids, and suspensions products.Raw Material testing is conducted on actives, excipients, and preservatives.
- Familiar withUSP with the ability to translate and implement testing per monographs and general chapters.
- An ability to multi-task is essential, as the candidate will be required to prioritize testing, data responsibilities, and additional duties based on manufacturing needs.
- Associate Scientist should be able to work on the bench, manage Projects while working with other scientists and collaborating with other departments
- Author SOPs, investigations, analytical reports
- Basic instrumentation troubleshooting
- Reviews test results to ensure compliance with specifications
Requirements:
- College Degree in Chemistry or similar
- 2-5 years of Raw Material testing experience
- Understanding of quality and regulatory requirements
- Theoretical understanding of analytical instrumentation such as:
- Chromatography HPLC-UV, GC-FID
- Wet chemistry Titrations, KF, pH
- Spectroscopy FT-IR, UV/Vis
- Good communication and technical writing skills
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks to complete testing and documentation on time
- Proficient with USP/NF testing
- Ability to communicate with suppliers regarding method or raw material issues
- Understanding of Raw Material, Manufacturing, and Production work streams
- Familiar with Document Management Systems (DMS) and LIMS systems
