Tasks

Responsibilities:

  • Support, engage, and promote ICLEI s Resilient Development Pathway and the associated activities, as part of the Global Coordination team, by contributing to the overall strategy and with delivery mainly through:

  • Projects: Plan, execute, and coordinate projects that address sustainable urban development, resilience, risk management, risk transfer, and partnership, among others with responsibility for timely and successful implementation of

  • Events: Support the organization of international ICLEI events and webinars, knowledge exchange workshops, also partner and high-level Represent ICLEI and the Resilient Development Team at such events, as

  • Knowledge sharing: Support and contribute to the development of knowledge products (training materials, case studies, reports, papers, project reports), as well as key messages to inform ICLEI s advocacy messaging on urban resilient

  • In particular, support the project management team with the flagship Urban Infrastructure Insurance Facility (UIIF) project, which aims to provide insurance protection to better secure critical infrastructure and poor vulnerable populations in Latin American cities from the impacts of natural hazards with related planning and implementing Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support ICLEI s Regional Offices with ley tasks, such as their assessment of UIIF candidate cities;

  • Provide tailored advice to guide and prepare local governments of selected cities to transfer risks, also through capacity building to better manage risks and strive for a more resilient, inclusive urban environment;

  • Support the design, preparation and coordination of events (in-person, virtual or hybrid), including the development of session descriptions, connecting with partners and speakers, overseeing logistics, leading on post-summary reports, and ensure excellent coordination and communication between offices;

  • Liaise with the Communications Team to co-compile and publish public project material such as blog posts, e-newsletter, ;

  • Report to manager and funder on all of the above, also on project consultants delivery and progress

  • Support further project acquisition to develop ICLEI s international project portfolio on resilience that serves local and regional governments around the

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in the area of climate resilience, compiling, analyzing and updating information, also familiarity with the project development cycle and
  • University degree (or equivalent) in economics, international relations, environmental studies, engineering, urban development studies, or a related
  • Highly proficient in English, spoken and written; Spanish and/or Portuguese being a strong
  • Knowledge of effective approaches to information exchange and interaction between various stakeholders, such as local, regional, and national governments, as well as international organizations, research institutions, private sector and
