JOB DESCRIPTION
Fidelity Partners is seeking a Registered Nurse in support of the Terminal Island Federal Correctional Institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staff
- Administer medications as prescribed i.e., by mouth, intradermally, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly and monitor and evaluate the response to therapies
- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate
- Maintain accurate logs of all reports in accordance with Bureau of Prisons and JACHO policy and screen laboratory tests/results for normal/abnormal lad values and notify the physician or physicians
- Ensure all sharps are secured, accounted for, stored, and disposed of according to institutional and national policy
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality and adhere to infection control policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating, and revising program plans
- Assists in determining conditions, resources, and policies essential to delivery of the health care services
- Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems
- Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call; which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations
- Perform duties as required, but accept only those nursing assignments that are commensurate with his/her educational preparation, training, experience, and licensure laws

QUALIFICATIONS
The Registered Nurse (contractor) must be certified to practice medicine in any state in the United States or territory, providing verification of credentials (education, current licensor/status competency, continuing medical education), and proof of malpractice insurance, as required by the Joint Commission.
- Must have at least three or more years of experience.
- Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

- Bilingual oral communication skills
- Administrative assistant experience in the medical science field is desired.
