Tasks
Main Responsibilities
Champion factory simulation and the application of advanced, model-based factory planning and optimization processes in SHL s Global Operation, Using a standardized, modular and reusable approach to simulation
- Develop discrete event simulation models for various parts of the manufacturing and production line Injection molding, Assembly, Packaging, Logistics, Material flow,
- Develop a decision-making framework with quantifiable tradeoffs for the entire factory and manufacturing process including materials planning, line design, and throughput
- Verifying and optimizing factory designs and capacities to support critical business decisions by using simulation and/or
- Document and present simulation results to key stakeholders with a clear focus on assumptions, constraints, objectives and results based on empirical and statistical data
- Incorporate statistical variation, uncertainty and impact of unplanned events to overall
- Develop a visualization framework to capture both high level factory operation and detailed subsystem operation and generate concise, clearly communicated analysis for
- Improve the existing frameworks for knowledge management, model validation and development of inhouse simulation capabilities for factory planning and
- Develop corresponding procedures / processes and ensure adequate knowledge transfer/training within
- Coach and develop less experienced team Provide training and guidelines to factory teams coupled with process documentation and operating
Requirements
Skills and Qualification
in Engineering or Applied Sciences in a relevant field (System Engineering, Production Management/Logistics, with a focus on statistics and optimization). PhD in a relevant field is a
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in creating material flow simulation, Throughput simulation, Bottleneck analysis, Resource optimization, Inventory reduction and optimization of complex manufacturing
- Experience with Discrete Event Simulation Software for modeling and simulation preferably Tecnomatix / Siemens Plant
- Hands-on industry experience in factory planning, process development and optimization is highly
- Strong analytical and organizational Structured working style with high-level of attention to details in complex
- Experience in relevant programming tools /
- Experience with big data, machine learning is a
- Experience with 2D/3D CAD tools is a
