Job Description
Position: Machine Set up Technician
Shift: 1st | Type: Full-Time | Mode: Direct | Industry: Manufacturing
BASIC PURPOSE:
Set-up and operation of machine, to include bar feeder, Star SR20 &
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: Requires two years minimum of setup experience on multi axis CNC
FUNCTIONAL SCOPE: Set-up and operate all machining Machine quality high precision
PRINT READING Responsibility: To understand, interpret and apply customer drawings To understand and interpret customer drawings To apply to program, set-up and inspection To have a working knowledge of different symbols and indicators of measurement on quality Geometric tolerancing
I INSPECTION Responsibility: To inspect parts to ensure accuracy of parts to customer To provide first-piece inspection To provide in-process inspection on a daily
II MACHINE OPERATION Responsibility: Offset, Program Edit, General Maintenance, Tool Changes To adjust and fine tune running machines when necessary To provide maintenance filling oil tan, weigh oil, Replace broken or worn tools, drills, Provide technical support to machinists
SET-UP Responsibility: Bar Feed, Machine, Collet and Bushing, Gang Tools, Power Tools, Front Drilling, C-Spindle & Ejector Pin, Back Understand and setup bar feeder Setup all aspects of CNC machine accurately and efficiently Provide technical support and training
PROGRAM LEVEL III Responsibility: Edit as necessary to ensure operation Understand G-functions and M-codes Edit programs Proofing programs Interpreting program and tool movement
V TOOL MAKING (Preferred Not Required) Responsibility: Make accurate and functional tools, drills, for CNC Machines Fully understand tool geometry s
VI PRODUCTION Responsibility: Maintain optimum machine utilization, and produce quality Produce quality components To set-up and maintain machines to run established production
VII OTHER Responsibility: Assist in any additional responsibility as defined by the Manufacturing Engineers to ensure quality manufacturing of all
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years setup experience on CNC machines set up
- Should be analytical and have trouble shooting skills
- Must be familiar with feeds and speeds
- Should be familiar with various metals and alloys part fabrication, as well as some familiarity with polymers
