Job Description:

A Nurse Covering Maternity, assigned to FSR 470 (which may represent a specific unit or department within a healthcare facility), is responsible for providing nursing care and support during the absence of a regular staff member due to maternity leave or other extended leave. This role ensures the continuity of patient care and the smooth operation of healthcare services within the designated unit or department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including assessment, monitoring, medication administration, and treatment as required.

  2. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, medications, and self-care.

  3. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, care plans, and progress notes.

  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, other nurses, and support staff, to provide comprehensive patient care.

  5. Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical staff.

  6. Adherence to Protocols: Follow established nursing protocols, standards of care, and safety procedures.

  7. Maternity Care: Provide specialized care and support for maternity patients and newborns, as applicable to the unit or department.
