Summary:
National Account Manager is responsible for maintaining existing Canadian accounts and developing new ones. He/She is responsible for meeting/exceeding sales top and bottom-line budgets per annum while actively engaging in funneling market/account feedback to Marketing and category eam for future program and product development.
In This Role, You'll Have The Opportunity To:
- Responsible for National Account revenue and top line growth objectives.
- Responsible for National Account margin goals through effective account planning and program development.
- Responsible for margin achievement of accounts and managing the mix of products across different channels of distribution to ensure a profitable program with each customer.
- Primary negotiator for building retail back-end programs with specific accounts, ensuring a profitable mix. This includes transportation costs, retailer allowances and fines.
- Responsible for budget setting in terms of sales, margins, operating costs associated with travel, selling and administration costs.
- Provide market feedback and assist with NPD process. Be the category champion for driving innovation and share where we can win.
- Responsible for knowing the Canadian retail market and developing competitive matrices to identify potential gaps and opportunities.
- Inventory management- assist Demand Planning to insure proper inventory and service level planning. Review forecasts on a weekly basis with internal stakeholders to ensure proper capacity planning.
- Complete rigorous ROI analysis for all customer programs. This includes conducting post mortems after promotional events to determine the success.
- Assists in new product development process with category managers to ensure maximum account growth.
- Develop and implement account strategies and 3 to 5 year plans for each account. Develop a road map for growth in both top line and profit.
- Utilize internal company systems to analyze sales, margins and forecasts and compare to budget.
- Analyze POS by account and provide analysis to senior management.
Requirements :

- Relevant cross-functional experience (Finance, Trade Development, Operations, IT, HR, Project management, etc.)
- Strong sales background with solid understanding of company selling procedures
- Strong financial capability (understands the total P&L)
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities
- Strong communication skills: verbal, listening and written
- Managing complex customer relationships
- Superior Negotiation and Influencing Skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s Degree or relevant experience
- 5 or more years' experience as a sales leader with a proven track record of delivering business results.
