Job Description
Title: AWS Cloud Architect
Duration: 12 months
Client: Virginia Information Technology Agency
Note: This is a hybrid position.
Job Description:
- Evaluate existing AWS instances and provide recommendations as required.
- Looking for ways to improve operations within the agency to digitize common tasks.
- Design and build enterprise wide cloud solutions on a global scale.
- Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaptation process.
- Review and evaluate architectures of existing systems and software products to identify reuse and platforming opportunities as well as refactoring opportunities.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to the teams in the implementation of established architectures and designs.
- Mentor and coach architects and developers to ensure that architecture and requirements best practices are followed.
- Establish and enforce quality standards for cloud software architectures.
- Provides critical thought leadership and expertise on best practices and approaches to ensure Cloud migration deliverables remain on track and delivered as committed.

7+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence 5+ Years in BI development leveraging the Microsoft SQL Server. Needs to be an expert in T-SQL 3-4 Years in SSIS and use of Stored Procedures. 3-4 Years in PowerBI Report Development Ingest and aggregate data from both internal and external data sources to build our data stage areas Strong understanding data modeling (i.e., conceptual, logical, and physical model design, experience with Operation Data Stores, Enterprise Data warehouses and Data Marts). Strong experience with business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices.
