Job Description

Responsible for working with multiple groups (both internally and externally) while making decisions that directly improve performance for over half of American Airlines daily departures. Utilize statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, or other analytical methods to analyze data and develop practical solutions to business problems. Coordinate with contract carriers, wholly owned carriers and ground handlers for schedule development and review. Liaise with Ops Performance and Planning and Network Planning to implement schedule review comments and oversee schedule phasing issues for special projections. Drive operational reliability through schedule improvement initiatives. Coordinate with carriers and ground handlers for manpower planning and GSE needs. Lead manpower planning readiness initiatives across the regional carriers and ground handlers. Act as the point of contact externally, and source of truth internally, for crew capability information from regional carriers. Become regional industry expert on regional crews. Develop forecasts and presentations to provide internal recommendations regarding staffing supportability and special programs. Mine, model and analyze data for operational improvement opportunities. Lead and liaise with Ops Performance and Planning Team on deep dive projects. Track and report on monthly performance across carriers and ground handlers. Become a regional industry expert to understand operational best practices. Develop competitive industry studies and key performance indicator (KPI) metrics.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
2 years of experience in analysis, and demonstrated experience in: Build dashboards using Tableau and PowerBI; Microsoft Excel including Pivot Table, Charts, Formulas, and Macro; Write SQL query in Mosaic and Teradata; Budget Shortfall Analysis; Navigating Employee Central database; Attrition trend analysis; Labor market analysis to determine proper wage levels for higher employee retention rates; Forecasting for crew and ground staffing levels for regional carriers; Microsoft PowerPoint; Airline industry experience; Write and evaluate business case studies that enhance operational performance and customer experience.
Bachelors degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or related field.
