Software QA Engineer (Performance)

Job Location: 6080 Tennyson Parkway, Suite 400, Plano, TX 75024 (Collin County) Job Duties: Responsible for the performance testing deliverables of the projects in Supply Chain, and Manufacturing. Work closely with the stakeholders to understand goals, requirements and architecture of the projects. Develop and implement performance testing strategy/plan to holistically test the applications. Build performance test suites and identify bottlenecks across multiple layers of the system and report performance issues to project stakeholders. Summarize large amounts of metrics into meaningful graphs and reports and creating release reports. Perform debugging and tuning JAVA and SQL performance issues that include garbage collection, heap management, JVM Configuration, V$ table, explain plan, query optimization etc. Provide regular performance testing status updates to projects stakeholders. Responsible for communicating risk and mitigation plans for the projects. Guide the geographically located performance test engineers on the projects as needed. Specifically, will be responsible for the following: Hands on Engineering - Work with product manager, solution architect, tech leads and business to understand the requirements and architecture of the project(s). - Create performance test strategy/plan to holistically test the applications. - Design the workload model for usage patterns and growth projections. - Develop automated performance test suites with multiple protocols . - Identify bottlenecks across multiple layers of the system and reporting performance issues to project stakeholders. - Summarize large amount of metrics into meaningful graphs and reports and creating release report. - Debug and tune JAVA and SQL performance issues that include garbage collection, heap management, JVM Configuration, V$ table, explain plan, query optimization etc. - Setup application monitoring and alerts using tools like Introscope, Splunk, App Dynamics. Consultation and Guidance - Collaborate, review, and guide the geographically located performance test engineers on the project(s). - Provide coding guidance to Junior Engineers. - Work with scrum master in writing performance test requirements and writing task breakups in JIRA. - Communicate risk and mitigation plans for the project(s). - Providing regular performance testing status updates to project(s) stakeholders. Witte Requirements/Special Skills: Bachelors degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field and four (4) years of experience in performance engineering. Where degree unrelated, employer will accept an additional of two (2) years of hands-on experience in performance engineering. Experience to include: 1. Four (4) years of experience designing the workload model for usage patterns and growth projections, benchmark testing, performance test automation and execution, performance analysis and tuning. 2. Four (4) years of scripting experience with multiple protocols such as . 3. Four (4) years of experience with performance testing tools like Jmeter/Blazemeter, and LoadRunner. 4. Four (4) years of experience with APM tools like CA Wily Introscope, Fluke, Splunk, App Dynamics, BMC Patrol HP. 5. Four (4) years of experience in Performance, Load, Stress and Scalability Testing for technologies such as Mainframe, JAVA and .Net. applications. 6. Four (4) years of experience in identifying performance issues within a distributed client/server environment like Load balancers, Weblogic, Database, Operating System, Network, Software (JAVA) and Hardware. 7. Four (4) years of experience with performance tuning such as garbage collection, heap management, JVM Configuration, V$ table, explain plan, query optimization. 8. Four (4) years of experience testing web services (REST or SOAP), and related technologies like SOAP, JAXB, WSDL, and XML. 9. Four (4) years of experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems. 10. Four (4) years of experience with the full software development lifecycle and methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile. Must have legal right to work in U.S. E.O.E. Subject to background check.
