JOB SUMMARY
This is an Operations position responsible for maintaining and repairing Sysco fleet equipment to ensure availability and reduce breakdowns.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs major and general mechanical repairs to Sysco vehicles and reefer units including troubleshooting mechanical problems and identifying their solution to correct malfunctions and reduce further breakdowns.
Follows PM schedules on all equipment.
Completes the repair of vehicles following the Department of Transporation (DOT) and State laws.
Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on Sysco vehicles.
Preserves shop area by keeping tools and equipment picked up, cleaning up liquid spills, sweeping floor, dumping the trash, and performing other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience
1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Class A license preferred.
Certified Motor Vehicle Inspector for Tractor/Trailer.
Certificates, license, registrations in diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and braking systems.
Professional Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Able to write simple correspondence.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Can add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Knowledge of basic welding and use of acetylene torch.
